I have heard people say that when it comes to houses, smaller is better because it's "less to clean." Having spent the last 10 months living in 1BR apartments, I feel compelled to tell you that this is a lie.
Why? It's not like you generate any less dirt because you're in a smaller place. It just means that the same amount of dirt is distributed over a much smaller area, thereby making it even dirtier than some place that's bigger. Hence our apartment here is filthy two days after it's been cleaned, which makes me grouchy because the cleaning people only come once every 7-9 days and won't give me a vacuum so that I can do it myself.
There. I just needed to get that off my chest.
