Jack, it appears, has become a rock star at daycare. We’ve been taking him in some during the last couple of weeks so that we can all get acclimated before we have to take him full-time. The first morning we walked through the door I was horrified. All of the other children in his class are walking, even though he’s in the Infant class. As I placed him in the swing and started to leave on the first day, swarms of toddlers approached, hands outstretched like baby Frankensteins, to touch “the baby”. That first night he came home and we had to wash all of the sticky toddler off his legs. (Now he wears pants to daycare!)
But in addition to all the toddler-love, the fact that he’s the only little baby in the whole center has also made him a big hit with the grown-ups. It doesn’t hurt that he’s adorable and loves to smile. He’s held almost all the time with teachers from other classrooms even popping in to cop a hold.
